San Rafael Public Library parcel tax ballot measure - support reading and learning!

The June 8, 2010 election will include a special Library Parcel Tax measure to support the San Rafael Public Library. The Library has been hard hit in recent years, especially during the current City fiscal crisis, and faces the possibility of reduced hours and services if additional revenues are not raised. The tax proposal on the June ballot will ask voters to approve a $49 per year parcel tax, with an initial length of seven years. San Rafael school students depend on our public library, and we hope you will consider voting "yes" on the measure in June, or even getting involved in the campaign and becoming an endorser.

Please encourage all of your San Rafael friends, family, and co-workers to do the same! For more information, please visit www.opendoorsopenminds.org . Thank you.

San Rafael High School spring musical - March 11 - 14

San Rafael High School will present the Tony Award-winning musical Urinetown on March 11th -14th. The show is a wild ride into the "not-too-distant-future" when water supplies have become so scarce that private industry has taken over control of all public amenities. As the people fight the establishment for the right to "pee for free", the show takes on the epic proportions of "Les Miz", "West Side Story", "Three Penny Opera" and "Wicked", with a dash of Rogers and Hammerstein thrown in for the schmaltz. Don't miss this hilarious, original, thought provoking and incredibly entertaining evening of theatre! Thursday through Saturday at 7:30pm, Sunday at 2pm. Adult tickets are $15, Seniors are $12, Students are $8.
