The Davidson Administrative Team consists of Assistant Principals Susan Akram and Mari Kernan, Dean of Students Tom Kordick, and Principal Bob Marcucci. Together, they have over 80 years of experience in education - as teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators.
Bob Marcucci has been the proud principal at Davidson Middle School since 2014. He has been in the San Rafael City Schools District for 23 years as both a teacher and administrator. He began his career as a teacher at Coleman in 1997, then became the principal at Laurel Dell, Glenwood, and now DMS. Mr. Marcucci grew up in San Rafael and is a product of Sun Valley, Davidson and San Rafael High School. He graduated from Saint Mary’s College in 1995 and got his bilingual teaching credential there as well. He received his Master’s in Education Administration from San Francisco State University in 2005. Mr. Marcucci’s passion lies in creating a positive school climate and serving the needs of students and families.
Over 300 people came to our End of the School Year Celebration Potluck, where 45 ELD students received their Reclassification Certificates of Accomplishment. The food was divine. There was live marimba music from Guatemala. A laptop was raffled among the reclassified students and there was a piñata for the little ones. The staff members, Jenette Erven and Maria de Luna, were recognized, as well as, the members of the PTO and ELAC and, most of all, the parents, teachers, students and collaborating organizations for their hard work every day. In short it was a night of gratitude!
The criteria for the Honor Roll is:
- NO D’s or F’s (quarter grades) and NO N’s or U’s in citizenship.
- Principal’s Honor Roll = GPA of 4.0
- Academic Honor Roll = GPA of 3.5-3.89
Grade Point Average (GPA) is calculated by adding up the total value of the letter grades and dividing by the number of graded classes.
The value of each letter grade is as follows:
A = 4 B = 3 C = 2 D = 1 F = 0
As an example, a student has a report card of
A, A, B, C, B, C, D.
The total would be 4+4+3+2+3+2+1 = 19.
19 divided by 6 classes = 3.16 GPA.
