Basketball Season is about to get started!  

Registration will open on Tuesday, November 12 at 7:00am and close on Friday, November 15th at 9:00pm.

Here is the TRYOUT and PRACTICE SCHEDULE.  Most likely we will not have tryouts for girls’ teams.  Please look over the schedule and make sure it works for your athlete to be there at those times.  Games start in January and the season will end in mid-March - 6th grade games will be on Tuesday, 7th grade games will be on Wednesday and 8th grade games will be on Thursday.

Our philosophy at Davidson Middle School has been - and continues to be - that we want to have as many students as possible in our Basketball program.  However, if more than 12 athletes register per team, we will have tryouts.  Tryouts and cuts are directly correlated to the number of players who can be on the court at one time, to the space we have for practices and games and to the numbers of coaches. The league also limits the number of teams permitted.  Due to the limitations, Davidson Basketball is a tryout-and-cut program if more than 12 athletes per team register to tryout.  We are allowed to have six teams compete in the league: a Boys and Girls team for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Davidson MS has one gym for all six teams. Basketball (compared to many other team sports) has a small number of athletes that play during games and a small court.  There are five athletes on the court during a game.

Basketball Tryouts will be the week of 11/18-11/22.  During that week, athletes will demonstrate commitment over the course of several practices. Coaches will make the final rosters by the end of that week.

After rosters are finalized a suggested donation of $50 email will be sent to all.
